Wolves Triumph Over Trojans

imageThe Wolves moved to 3-2 and kept their playoff hopes alive with a convincing 26-8 victory over the West Coast Trojans in Greenock.

When these sides met earlier this season the first half was packed with touchdowns as both sides were scoring with ease. This game however was a defensive master class and the Wolves had just a narrow 3-0 lead at half time, Murray Rendall kicking over after an 80 yard attacking drive from the Wolves.

The start of the Second Half followed the same pattern as once again Murray Rendall converted a field goal in the third quarter to take increase the wolves lead to 6-0.

A turnover gifted the Trojans possession on the Wolves 20 yard line and speedster Jordan Falconer made the Wolves pay with a great run through the middle to score the first touchdown of the afternoon to take the lead.

The game moved in to the fourth quarter and with a defeat on the cards, the Wolves players stepped up.
Lloyd Dingan received a catch on the wing, broke 3 tackles and raced into the end zone to go in to the end zone.

The Trojans had to turn to their back up quarterback due to injury and his first pass was tipped before being intercepted by Calum Buchan who raced it in for a defensive touchdown and extend the Wolves lead.

The result was sealed when Kieran Smith ran the ball into the end zone after a lovely planned play straight off the training field.
