On Saturday, the Edinburgh Wolves will face the West Coast Trojans in the first game at our new home venue Meggetland. The newly promoted Trojans come into the game with a record of 3 wins and 1 loss (two wins have been awarded due to Clyde Valley Blackhawks withdrawing from the league).
In the Trojans most recent encounter they faced off against the Gateshead Senators and came away with a 12-6 victory. The match-ups between the Trojans and the Wolves have always been feisty however in the last few seasons the Wolves have held the upper hand.
The Trojans have added Blackhawks standout Tam chapman to lead their defence and the veteran will be one to watch on the West Coast defence.Burly QB Gary McNey is still in charge of the Trojans offence and looks to stop the stingy Wolves Defence. For the Wolves they hope to keep the momentum going after cruising to a 31-0 victory over Gateshead Senators. Veteran cornerback Calum Buchan is hopeful for a good showing in the new venue,
The club have done a lot to improve our facilities for this year and hopefully the product on the pitch will match our great surroundings. We can’t take West Coast lightly, they are a good side with some very experienced players. We have always had some good battles in the past.
The Wolves will be looking to put on an entertaining show on the pitch and help create a great atmosphere. With this being the first game at Meggetland the Wolves are hoping to attract a big crowd. There will be a BBQ (Scottish weather permitting) as well as a fully licensed bar. Forth One’s Cameron Hobbs will be providing commentary during the game, as we hope to provide one of the best game day experiences in British American Football.
We will have a selection of merchandise available for fans to buy.
Tickets are only £5 for adults and £1 for under 14’s.
