On Sunday the Edinburgh Wolves make the relatively short trip to Irvine as the take on the West Coast Trojans and look to move to 9-0 for the season.
Sunday’s opponents are led by veteran QB Gary McNey. The Trojans made the move up to division 1 last year and have at points struggled this year. They currently sit with a record of 4 wins and 5 losses. Sunday marks the end of the Trojans regular season fixtures.
The Trojans and Wolves have had a long standing rivalry with both sides pushing each other in tightly contested matches in recent years.
In the last match up at Meggetland the Wolves ran out victorious winning 56-6.
From the Wolves perspective they must win the next two games to guarantee a number 1 seed for the playoffs. If the Wolves lose either of the next two games then they risk dropping down to a number 3 seed.
With the current playoff seeding’s determined by points conceded the Wolves are averaging 5 pts conceded a game with no games lost. Whilst rivals Sandwell are conceding 4.7pts a game with 9 games played.
