Preview: Wolves v Pirates

Edinburgh Wolves Look To Extend Lead At The Top Of Prem North

On Sunday the Edinburgh Wolves will face off against the East Kilbride Pirates.

The first match ended in a draw and now both sides will be looking for a win to grab bragging rights for the year.

Since the first encounter both sides have squared off against the Sheffield Giants. The Pirates running out with a 21-6 victory when the Sheffield side made the long journey up to Scotland on Sunday.

Wide receiver Lloyd Dignan will be looking to help the Wolves continue their good form. He had this to say:

We were disappointed not to come away with the win last time but fortunate not to lose in the last minute. I have no doubt it will be a close game again but we have prepared well and are looking to extend our good start.

The Wolves had to take the trip down to Sheffield and ran out with a comfortable 31-0 win.

Both sides will have been using the time in-between to improve and come away with a victory. The Pirates have not lost to a Scottish side since Head Coach Don Edmonston’s playing days when they fell to the now defunct Fife 49ers.

Both sides are capable of putting up the points and scoring quickly, this is certain to be another close encounter between the two Scottish powerhouses.

The game will be played at Peffermill Playing Fields with Kick Off at 2:30pm on Sunday the 7th of May. Entry to this game is free so really there’s no excuse for missing the action.
