Edinburgh Conquer Caesars in Quarter-Final
On a blustery Sunday afternoon the Edinburgh Wolves faced off against the Nottingham Caesars at Peffermill.
With high winds conditions for passing were hampered and as such neither QB had much success.
The Wolves defence played well forcing 5 interceptions as the Caesars found no success with the run and were forced to use the pass even in the horrendous conditions.
The Wolves didn’t open the scoring until the second quarter when Lloyd Dignan on his return from injury pulled in a pass from Jamie Morrison. Jamie Morrison then ran in the 2 point conversion to put the Wolves up 8-0.
Despite an onslaught of penalties from the officials the Wolves again found the end-zone with another pass to Dignan however the wolves failed to convert the 2 point play and went in at the half leading 14-0.
In the second half the game was once again marred by penalties. Then in the fourth quarter Morrison had to scramble out of the pocket towards the sidelines. Morrison used his legs to run in the score after some good blocking downfield. George Fell tacked on the 2 point conversion after a nice catch facing away from play.
The Caesars managed to pull back 6 points in the final 2 minutes and finish the game 22-6.
